Reconciliation

This is the Sacrament in which sins committed after Baptism are forgiven. It results in reconciliation with God and the Church. (US Catholic Catechism for Adults, Glossary)

The Catechism teaches that those who approach the sacrament of Penance obtain pardon from God's mercy for the offense committed against him, and are, at the same time, reconciled with the Church which they have wounded by their sins and which by charity, by example, and by prayer labors for their conversion. Preparations for first confession are made concurrently with preparation for the sacrament of First Holy Communion. This sacrament is available at various time in the parish throughout the week.
